Auburn has had a new head football coach for just more than 24 hours, and the Tigers have already lost a top recruit.
Bralan Womack, a 5-star and No. 1 safety in the 2026 recruiting class, announced his flip from Auburn to Mississippi State on Twitter on Monday afternoon.

Committed to Auburn since August, when Hugh Freeze was still the head coach, Womack sent a warning on Sunday afternoon following the hiring of Alex Golesh as Auburn's new head coach, posting just an emoji that many saw as a knock toward the former USF head coach's hiring on the Plains.
Womack was on the Plains this past Saturday for the Iron Bowl, a 27-20 Auburn loss to rival Alabama. 247Sports has the Flowood, Miss., native as the No. 30 overall player in the 2026 class.
The Early Signing Period starts on Wednesday, and with just a few days to convince recruits and commits of his plan and vision for the program, Golesh will assuredly tirelessly be on the phone trying to win them over.
