There will be no time needed for Auburn’s starting quarterback and wide receivers to get to know each other this offseason. Alex Golesh has made sure of that with yet another signing from his former school.
After bringing in Byrum Brown, his quarterback during the last three seasons at USF, including this past season, in which he threw for 3,158 yards and 28 touchdowns and rushed for 1,008 yards and 14 scores, the new Auburn coach has brought in a slew of receivers from his old team, including on Friday, when Keshaun Singleton announced he will be following Golesh to the Plains.
Playmaker who is mismatch for defenders
Singleton led the Bulls in receptions (50) and receiving yards (877) last season, while tying Jeremiah Koger, another new Auburn player, with eight touchdown catches. At 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, he can be a matchup problem and will likely fill the role left by Cam Coleman on the outside. In two seasons with the Bulls, the Norcross, Ga., native has put up 76 receptions for 1,285 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Singleton joins Koger, Christian Neptune and Cory Pettigrew as receivers who played under Golesh at USF who are now on Auburn’s roster, hoping to take the production left by Coleman, Malcolm Simmons, Eric Singleton Jr., Perry Thompson and Horatio Fields, who all left the Tigers after the 2025 season.
Golesh has also added former Bulls’ tight end Jonathan Echols and running back Nykahi Davenport as he continues to drain his old roster by bringing them to his new one.
It’s a good sign for Auburn that these players are coming with Golesh, as USF finished 18th in passing offense last season, averaging 276.6 yards per game through the air.
Another tight end, Xavier Newsom, has signed with the Tigers, coming from Howard University.
