Auburn is one of five schools still in the running for the services of 4-star defensive lineman Karlos May, the player announced on Thursday.
Out of Ramsay HS in Birmingham, Ala., May has narrowed down his choices to the Tigers, Georgia, Ole Miss, Florida State and Ohio State.

The 6-foot-2, 330-pound May is ranked the No. 7 defensive lineman and No. 2 player in Alabama for the 2027 signing class, and has been heavily recruited by defensive line coach Vontrell King-Williams and new Auburn head coach Alex Golesh.
He recently took an unofficial visit to the Plains on April 2, when Golesh and his staff hosted some recruits for a scrimmage held at night inside Jordan-Hare Stadium. It wasn’t his first visit to Auburn, but it definitely stood out for the coveted recruit.
“It was pretty good,” May told On3’s Jeffrey Lee. “I got a chance to see the coaches in person and see how everybody is moving and the vibe that everybody is on,” May said. “See what timing all the players and all the men are on. They’re ready to get back to what Auburn used to be. Just seeing that kind of struck something in me. It just made me feel like they’re going to be a successful program in the upcoming years.”
Auburn one of the favorites to land 4-star Karlos May
King-Williams, one of the few coaches who were kept on staff from last season following Golesh’s hire, has been a critical point in May’s recruiting.
“Seeing Coach Vontrell move around to every station and bringing that energy that you need and competitiveness and relentless effort that you need to go out there and be competitive with the offense to get them better,” May said. “That was good to see them get after all the drills and not walking, going through every drill as fast as they can and as hard as they can — doing it right.”
May has scheduled an official visit to Auburn on June 12, in addition to an official visit to Georgia on June 5. He has already been on an official visit to Ole Miss, which took place on March 25.
