Auburn and Alex Golesh have stayed hot on the recruiting trail on Monday, adding the commitment of 4-star offensive lineman Reed Ramsier.
“Auburn has literally been in pursuit of me since the first week Coach Hoodie and Coach Golesh got there,” Ramsier told Rivals. “I knew both of them from where they were before, so we just had a little catching up to do.”
It was another major victory for Golesh and his staff, beating out SEC rival Texas for Ramsier. The 6-foot-4, 290-pound Ramsier is ranked the No. 12 interior offensive lineman in the 2027 class and becomes the 15th commit for the Tigers in the class, moving up their ranking to No. 19 in the nation.
For Ramsier, it was about the feeling he got when he stepped on the Plains each time for a visit. He was back on campus for his fourth visit this past weekend.
Reed Ramsier feels at home on the Plains
“Auburn took the lead the minute I stepped foot back on campus,” he said. “It feels like home. I feel comfortable being around the people and the town. The town and university are awesome. I could see myself living in Auburn after football.
“I can see myself being developed by the coaches and the people around me at Auburn too. Auburn is the best place for me to grow as a young man, a student and a football player.”
Building relationships with Golesh and offensive line coach Tyler Hudanick was another major reason the First Academy (Orlando, Fla.) chose the Tigers.
“It was great to sit down with Coach Hoodie and talk about development and watch him coach up my film and tape,” Ramsier said. “Coach Golesh is a real human being who cares about developing his players into great young men. He has been honest with me since I was a freshman, which goes a long way.
“It’s coaches like Golesh and Hoodie that make you want to play as hard as possible because you respect them.”
