Arkansas coach John Calipari has amusing reaction to Auburn's defeat to Missouri

While Calipari didn't say anything, his facial expressions tell how he feels.

For all of the things that people can say about John Calipari, one isn’t that he’s boring at press conferences. The current Arkansas head basketball coach has a history of speaking his mind (and almost getting beaten up by Temple head coach John Chaney at a press conference), and while he didn’t have any real words on Wednesday night, his reaction to Auburn losing to Missouri says it all.

We might never know what Calipari wanted to say, but we can at least make several guesses. As a reminder, the No. 15 Razorbacks walked into Neville Arena this past Saturday and got blown out 95-73 by Auburn in a game that was never really that close. It was the Tigers’ first SEC win of the season, and stopped a two-game losing streak.

On Wednesday, Steven Pearl’s team lost to Missouri on the road, a team now 13-4 and 3-1 in SEC play. So, what did Calipari want to say? Here are our guesses:

“How did we lose to a team that badly that is now 10-7 and 1-3 in SEC play and with their NCAA Tournament hopes getting even more dismal by each game?”

“Oh, crap. We still have to play Missouri twice, including in our regular-season finale in Columbia!”

“Awesome! We get to play this Auburn team again, this time in Fayetteville on Valentine’s Day, which will be a great present for my wife.”

“I’m still bitter about the 2019 Elite Eight loss that was basically my last chance at a Final Four during my time in Lexington.”

“Does this jacket match my hankerchief?”

Whatever he was thinking, we can assume Calipari was still angry with his team for laying an egg against Auburn on Saturday. For the record, the Razorbacks responded to the loss by blowing out South Carolina, 108-74, on Wednesday.
