For the third time in the last four seasons, the Auburn baseball team will host an NCAA regional at Plainsman Park. The Tigers were one of 16 teams selected to host the games, and were slotted at the No. 4 seed in the selection show on Monday morning. Not only will the Tigers host a regional, but they are a top-8 national seed for the first time since 2003 and just the second time in program history, allowing them the opportunity to host more games if they keep winning.
The Tigers finished the season with an overall record of 38-18 and a conference record of 17-13. Auburn has the fourth-most quad one wins behind Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, and Texas heading into the tournament, and had the No. 1 strength of schedule.
"It's an extremely short list of teams that have hosted three of the last four regionals, and we're honored to be a part of it," Head Coach Butch Thompson said, per Auburn Undercover. "To do it for the first time in our program's history, I'm thankful to be associated with such an amazing group of players, coaches, stakeholders, fans and administration that sees the amazing value and potential in Auburn baseball. The 2025 Tigers can't wait to compete this weekend and start the postseason in the newly renovated Plainsman Park in front of our amazing fans."
