Auburn will rely on a talented group of sophomores as it heads into the 2026 baseball season, with Chris Rembert, Chase Fralick and Bub Terrell all earning spots on the Southeastern Conference’s Preseason All-SEC teams.
Rembert, a second baseman from Pensacola, Fla., was chosen for the first team, while catcher Fralick from Peachtree City, Ga., and outfielder Terrell of Meridian, Miss., received second-team honors.
All three made an immediate impact as freshmen last year. Rembert led Auburn with a .344 batting average, 10 home runs and 46 RBIs, also ranking among the conference leaders in on-base percentage. Fralick combined solid hitting with exceptional defense behind the plate, throwing out multiple base runners and maintaining a high fielding percentage. Terrell contributed both offensively and in the field, hitting .300 and earning MVP honors during the Auburn Regional after a standout postseason performance.
Together, they helped Auburn reach its first home Super Regional, cementing their status as key players for the program’s future. SEC coaches predict the Tigers will finish fifth in the league, the program’s highest preseason ranking in years.
Auburn, picked to finish fifth in the SEC preseason poll, opens its season at Plainsman Park with a three-game series against Youngstown State from Feb. 13–15, giving fans a first look at whether this sophomore trio can continue their breakout success.
