Auburn seemed to have gained significant momentum on Oklahoma's first drive of the game as a Sooner receiver caught the ball across the middle, the ball was stripped, and the Tigers returned it 64 yards for the touchdown.
However, as it usually does, SEC officiating reared its ugly head as the ball was deemed incomplete before the fumble happened.
Auburn fans aren't exactly happy with how it went down:
Oh man, there is no way they had enough evidence to overturn that. Auburn just got hosed.

It’s been literally 6 Oklahoma plays and the refs have cost Auburn a touchdown and a 3rd down stop.

It takes one foot in bounds to make a catch in the end zone.

Not sure how taking two steps with the ball before it's knocked loose is ruled an incompletion but OK.
Auburn stripped of what would have been a touchdown.
The commentators sure disputed it enough so I don’t think it was indisputable

Well I see how Oklahoma wins at home.

How was that not a fumble? Incomplete pass? Huh?
— Nick Clinard (@AUCoachClinard) September 20, 2025
Just brutal stuff there.

He took three steps but it is incomplete ?

Baloney
Refs out here babying the new SEC team

Bad call! That was a catch fumble https://t.co/VzX1IVuhjN

Greg McElroy thinks it was the correct call. Of course he does.

Auburn just got robbed. One foot is a catch. The second foot was a football move. Ball was loose on the punch before his butt hit the ground.
— David “The Great” (Blue Check) (@Dtgreat13) September 20, 2025
Play ruled a catch/fumble.
What evidence contradicts what was called on the field.
Another case of replay trying too hard.
Don’t tell me refs don’t decide games.

That is a ten point swing.
2 steps and a tuck, then Robinson hits the ground with the ball in his own hand before it’s jarred free. That’s a fumble and a TD Auburn.
Ten point swing to Oklahoma.
You have no shame @SEC
Terrible turnover call in the Sooners/Auburn game just now. That was a fumble
