Auburn's 2025 football season is exactly one week away as the Tigers travel to Waco, Texas, to battle Baylor in the season opener. The Tigers are looking to rebound from a disappointing 5-7 season, and some believe the pieces are there for Hugh Freeze's team to make some noise.

With the transfer portal now a significant factor in college football, the Tigers will feature some new faces at key positions, including quarterback, this season.

While Freeze always says he doesn't believe in a depth chart, we do here at Fly War Eagle, so here's our projected starters and backups for the Tigers on offense when they take the field next Friday.

QUARTERBACK

Jackson Arnold
Ashton Daniels
Deuce Knight

Auburn's quarterback room was revamped entirely this season as Payton Thorne, Hank Brown, Walker White and Holden Geriner all departed. That paved the way for Arnold (Oklahoma) and Daniels (Stanford) to compete for the starting job. Arnold was the clear winner and will get the chance to show what he is capable of.

Knight, a true freshman, is the future at quarterback.

RUNNING BACK

Damari Alston
Jeremiah Cobb
Durell Robinson
Omar Mabson

Alston waited in the wings behind Jarquez Hunter for two seasons. Now, he gets his chance to be the workhorse in the backfield. Don't sleep on Cobb or Robinson, though. Mabson has also shown some flashes this preseason. It's a deep backfield. That's never a bad problem to have.

WIDE RECEIVER X

Cam Coleman
Sam Turner

Coleman returns after a solid freshman season in which he put up 37 catches for 598 yards and eight scores. With a year under his belt, look for him to be even better. Turner is a true freshman who will turn some heads this season and in the years to come.

WIDE RECEIVER Z

Horatio Fields
Perry Thompson

Fields is a crucial addition to the receiver room as he comes over from Wake Forest after catching 39 passes for 463 yards and four scores last season. At 6-foot-3, he's another tall target for Arnold. The lights are coming on more for Thompson after a freshman season in which he got lost in the pack.

WIDE RECEIVER (SLOT)

Eric Singleton
Malcolm Simmons
Bryce Cain

The top receiver in the transfer portal, Singleton is another game-changer for Auburn's offense. Don't be surprised if he leads the Tigers in receiving. Simmons' off-the-field charges were dropped, but if he serves a suspension or for how long remains a mystery.

TIGHT END

Brandon Frazier
Preston Howard

Frazier returns for another season after missing the final nine games of 2024 with an injury. Howard (6-foot-5, 235 lbs.) gives the Tigers another big option.

LEFT TACKLE

Xavier Chaplin
Izavion Miller

If there is one position that Freeze and the Tigers couldn't miss on this offseason besides quarterback, it was left tackle. Auburn has struggled to find a player who fits that role for several years. Chaplin, a transfer from Virginia Tech, could finally be the answer.

LEFT GUARD

Dillon Wade
DeAndre Carter

Wade is a veteran who moved from tackle to guard two seasons ago and has proven to be solid at his position. Carter, a redshirt freshman, has a bright future.

CENTER

Connor Lew
Dylan Senda

If there's been any stability on Auburn's offensive line, it's been Lew. A preseason third team All-SEC pick, he's the leader of the offensive line.

RIGHT GUARD

Jeremiah Wright
Dylan Senda

Wright brings another veteran presence to the offensive line, a unit that should be significantly improved over the previous two seasons. Senda, much like most offensive linemen, can play multiple positions.

RIGHT TACKLE

Mason Murphy
Tyler Johnson

Another transfer portal addition, Murphy brings more experience after playing in 39 games (22 starts) for USC over four seasons.
