Auburn football was all over 247 Sports' Brad Crawford's 2025 most impactful SEC signings list, notching two players in the top three and four in the top 25. Former Georgia Tech WR Eric Singleton Jr. and ex-Oklahoma QB Jackson Arnold were No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
Crawford stressed the importance of Hugh Freeze nailing his transfer portal decision under center with the Arnold addition.
"The only SEC transfer quarterback ranked inside the national top 10, Jackson Arnold should benefit from a stacked wideout room along with better play up front. That's right — the guy the Sooners temporarily benched during last fall's spiral could be one of the SEC's best next season Arnold was sacked 34 times in 10 starts last season, including 16 times total in losses to South Carolina and Ole Miss. Hugh Freeze has to hit a grand slam with this Arnold acquisition — or else," Crawford wrote.
Singleton's success is seen as directly tied to Arnold's.
"Over his first two seasons at Georgia Tech, Eric Singleton Jr. racked up a combined 104 receptions, 1,468 yards and nine touchdowns as one of the nation's most explosive, speedy wide receivers. He's listed at 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds and will be one of the go-to threats downfield for Arnold next season. Auburn spent more than $1 million (reportedly) on this cycle's top wideout transfer. The Tigers welcome back Cam Coleman and Perry Thompson, but the rest of this position group will look brand new," Crawford wrote.
LSU and Ole Miss also had two players in Crawford's top 10. LSU had six players overall on the list, the only team to have more than Auburn. Ole Miss, like Auburn, had four players represented.
Ex-Wake Forest WR Horatio Fields and former Virginia Tech OL Xavier Chaplin were the other two Auburn Tigers on Crawford's list.
