4-star safety Craig Tutt has only three official visits scheduled this summer, and they are to the only three schools he will be considering in his recruitment. The top three are Auburn football, Tennessee, and Ole Miss.
From Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Tutt is ranked as the No. 245 overall prospect and the No. 22 safety in the recruiting class of 2026. He is the No. 6 recruit out of his home state, and the Vols are trying to get him to stay in that state.
Meanwhile, Tutt took his first official visit of the trio to Auburn. It was his second time on the Plains, and the experience exceeded the safety's expectations.
"Oh man, it's amazing," Tutt said, per Auburn Rivals. "It's completely not what I expected — it's actually more than I expected it to be. I'm excited that I got a chance to come down here and explore it all."
Tutt said that head coach Hugh Freeze was heavily involved in his visit, but he also got to spend time with safeties coach TJ Rushing, who illustrated to Tutt how he would be a good fit on the Plains and how he fits into the Tigers' schemes.
The safety will not make his final decision until after making all three official visits— he'll spend the coming weekend in Ole Miss and the next weekend at Tennessee— but has identified the important factors in his decision.
"Relationships, family opportunity, I want to go to a school where I'm not necessarily going to play right away but I want to work for my spot and be given an opportunity to work for my spot," Tutt said. "It's somewhere that I know I want to be. Auburn has the number one thing in the country where they play the most freshmen, so that's something that's really important to me. That opportunity and relationships. And stability also."
