This weekend, multiple tight end transfers made their way to the Plains

With the transfer portal in full swing, the Auburn football coaching staff is evaluating, contacting, and setting up visits with prospects around the clock. Whereas in high school recruiting there are years of relationships built up, there is a very short amount of time to recruit transfers, and setting up visits is vital.

With Luke Deal and Rivaldo Fairweather out of eligibility and Micah Riley hitting the portal, the tight end position group is one of need for the Tigers. They will likely look to take more than one from the portal if they find the right fit.

Two transfer tight ends visited the Plains over the weekend: Khamari Anderson and Cody Hardy.

Former Kentucky tight end Khamari Anderson visited on Friday and Saturday and enjoyed his time on the Plains. Anderson spent two seasons with the Wildcats but recorded only six catches for 40 yards. Seeing the way that Auburn tight ends coach Ben Aigamaua utilizes tight ends was a big plus for Anderson.

"It's amazing," Anderson said, per Auburn Rivals. "It's different in person. How they utilized last year and how they plan to utilize me. It's something to see. Crazy."

Also on the Plains this weekend was former Elon tight end Cody Hardy. Ready to move up to the FBS level, Hardy has visits set up with several schools and has already visited Oklahoma State and Cincinnati. Similar to Anderson, Hardy appreciates the way tight ends are used at Auburn, and believes he could be a good fit on the Plains.

"After talking for a little bit, watching some film and seeing what they do here, seeing how the tight ends are very involved, it does sound very good," Hardy said, per Auburn Rivals. "Looks like I could get on the field a good bit here. Everything they do with the tight ends, it does look like I would be a good fit here. So, we just have to see how it goes."
