The 2025 Auburn football season is almost here, and possibly no one is more excited to hit the field than running back Durell Robinson.
After having to miss out on spring practices while recovering from a toe surgery, Robinson is feeling healthier than ever and is looking to make his mark for the Tigers this fall. He was back in action for fall camp, and when asked by the Auburn football staff what his mood is for camp, Robinson replied with two words: crash out.
Playing with aggression and intensity and becoming an unstoppable force is Robinson's goal for this season, his first on the Plains after playing at UConn last season, where he rushed for 731 yards and eight touchdowns.
“I would really die on that field if it came to that. If I’ve got to die on that field to get us a win, I would do that,” Robinson said, per AL.com. “And I would also say, 1-on-1, I’m not getting tackled 1-on-1. I take pride in that. I really do take pride in that. When I’m 1-on-1, no one should be able to tackle me. I shouldn’t be here if they do.”
For Auburn football, a team that has long been known for aggressive, powerful running backs, Robinson's mindset is more than welcome. While senior Damari Alston and junior Jeremiah Cobb are slotted in as the starting running backs, it will come as no surprise that Robinson is battling for the No. 3 spot.
Robinson and the Tigers kick off the 2025 season on Friday, August 29, against the Baylor Bears in Waco, Texas.
