As the recruiting dead period draws closer, the Auburn football program is putting in extra effort to draw highly ranked recruits to the Plains. Over the past weekend, the Tigers even got their current players involved in the recruitment, spending time with prospects and joining them for photos.

One of the current Auburn football players who seems to excite prospects the most is freshman quarterback Deuce Knight. Though Oklahoma transfer Jackson Arnold has been tabbed the 2025 QB1 heading into the fall, Knight and Arnold were the only two quarterbacks to participate in spring practice and both got plenty of practice and reps.

For many recruits in the class of 2026, Knight is seen as their future quarterback, and that’s especially important for the wide receivers. Here is what some of the Tigers’ top WR targets and commits are saying about the future signal caller.

Denairius Gray (Auburn commit): "The main thing is my relationship with the coaches, for sure. That's the main thing. Quarterback play, I got Deuce Knight, a really good quarterback, so I'm ready...if you don't have somebody that's going to throw you the ball, you really can't do anything."

Cederian Morgan: "They’ve definitely been on me, Deuce has been on me the most, though. I know Deuce is a great quarterback who can give me the ball however I need it, so that'll be a big plus for me."

Devin Carter (Auburn commit): Deuce Knight, I got to work out with him. We went to the field, ran some routes. That's my guy. He's one of them ones and we're going to be special. He's already going to be developed. Learn the plays, get everything down. The chemistry with the older guys, get everybody to buy in. Everybody's grouping around him, too. I realize that, and he's a good guy. I'm looking forward to being around someone like that."
