The Auburn Tigers continue to make waves on the recruiting trail and have added another commitment to their recruiting class of 2027.

Nasir Banks, who is ranked as a safety but was recruited to the Plains as an athlete, announced his commitment on Monday on the heels of a late summer official visit to campus. He chose Auburn football over Boston College, Pittsburgh and Purdue and had a total of 15 offers from programs around the country.

Banks is ranked as a 3-star safety and is the No. 126 recruit out of the state of Georgia. A product of McEachern High School, Banks will join up with current teammate and Auburn cornerback commit Nash Johnson III.

"Me and Nash have been through a lot together," Banks said, per Auburn Undercover. "Us coming from where we came from and keep working, our whole life just working. To see it pay off and us both at an SEC school, the Auburn University, it's crazy. Very happy for that."

Banks told Auburn Undercover that he knew after his first unofficial visit to the Plains that he was ready to commit, not only because of his familiarity with the schemes but also because of the family atmosphere that exists in Auburn and on campus.

"It feels like a family. The town, they don't even know me yet and they love me," Banks said. "The coaches, they show me love every time. It just feels like the right decision, the right choice. It feels like home. Coach (Tim) Banks, Coach DVD (DeMarcus Van Dyke), Coach AG (Alex Golesh). Really all the coaches. Coach Bud (Buddy Brosky), Coach Shark (Tony Rozier), everybody always makes sure I'm straight and checks up on me even when I'm back home in Atlanta."

Banks is the second athlete to commit to head coach Alex Golesh and the Tigers in the class of 2027, joining ranks with 3-star ATH Preston Williams from Skipperville, Alabama. He is the seventh player out of the Peach State in the class.

Just one day into the recruiting dead period, which began on June 22 and will last until September 1, Auburn football is holding steady in the 247 Sports 2027 recruiting rankings top 10 with 22 commits. The Tigers' class is ranked No. 9 overall, ahead of Virginia Tech and behind Florida, Texas, Texas Tech, Oregon, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Miami and Texas A&M at the top spot.
