Alex Golesh was earning quite a good salary as the head coach at South Florida. The 41-year-old just got a big bump in pay as the new head man of the Auburn Tigers.

According to Nathan King of AuburnUndercover, Golesh signed a six-year deal worth approximately $7.4 million annually, with the opportunity to earn more if he meets goals. If he were to lead Auburn to a nine-win season, Golesh would earn an extra $1.5 million, per King's sources.

And, if the Tigers were to win 12 or more games in a season, his salary plus incentives could reach as much as $12 million.

Last season at USF, Golesh was paid $2.6 million. In his three years in Tampa, he led the Bulls to a 23-15 record, including 9-3 this season with a win over Florida in the Swamp. He previously spent time as offensive coordinator at UCF and Tennessee.

Golesh is scheduled to be introduced on Monday at noon CT in Auburn's recruiting center in Jordan-Hare Stadium.

"I want to thank President Roberts and John Cohen for the opportunity to lead the Auburn program," Golesh said in the press release. "Auburn football is one of the proudest, most tradition-rich programs in all of college football and my family and I could not be more excited to join the Auburn family. This will be a player-driven program, and no one will outwork our staff. Auburn has won, can win and will win championships. Let's get to work."
