Week 7 was a magical slate of college football upsets. It was historic. For the first time, five top-eight teams in the AP Poll took a loss.

No bigger upset took place than Auburn's Deep South's Oldest Rivalry victory over No. 1 Georgia in Athens. Alex Golesh nabbed his first SEC road win in one of the greatest upsets of the CFP era the conference has seen.

“We’re going to build Auburn back to where everyone wants it, one game at a time," Golesh said after the game in an epic speech on the field.

The Tigers' season has been flipped upside down after Saturday's action. So has the bigger picture in college football at large.

Alabama and Texas take major losses in the SEC

Tennessee took a 26-10 win over Alabama during a dominant Third Saturday in October victory on Rocky Top. Star Crimson Tide quarterback Keelon Russell had just 147 passing yards and threw two interceptions in the extremely worrisome effort for Kalen DeBoer, Ryan Grubb, and Co.

Elsewhere, Steve Sarkisian's Texas offense sputtered with Arch Manning running it during the most important moments of a 27-24 loss to Florida in Austin. Cam Coleman caught flak from Auburn fans after the three-catch, 18-yard, one-touchdown effort.

Overall, the SEC shaped up in a way that gives most teams across the conference hope for an appearance in what'll almost certainly be the final SEC Championship Game in Atlanta this December.

Even the Tigers, with just two losses and a win over the Dawgs. The two teams they lost to, the Gators and Volunteers, just strengthened AU's resume.

BYU and Ohio State rock the top five

Ohio State scraped by Indiana 19-15 on the road in what wasn't an upset at the spread, but was a major 22-game winning streak ender for Curt Cignetti's Hoosiers. The most intriguing plot point moving forward may be Buckeyes quarterback Julian Sayin's throwing shoulder injury.

Meanwhile, BYU defeated Notre Dame as a double-digit dog (cat?) in a 28-24 Cougars win in Provo. Fighting Irish fans will feel screwed by the non-PI call on the final play at the goal line, but Notre Dame is still in good shape for the CFP.

College football only has so many weekends like this in a given decade. This particular day is once in a lifetime, at least so far.

Auburn fans got nearly every result they could've wanted, down to LSU not having three losses going into next week's game after shutting out Mississippi State.
