While the Auburn basketball team's season isn't finished yet, the coaching staff is already looking ahead to the 2026-27 roster. Ahead of the Tigers' appearance in the NIT Final Four this weekend, the team signed French professional Narcisse Ngoy.
A 7-foot center who has been playing professionally since he was 17, the 21-year-old Ngoy is currently averaging 21 points, 10.6 points per game, 11.5 rebounds and 2.6 blocks in the second tier of the French National League for Poitiers Basket 86. He is shooting at 70 percent from 2-point range.
"We're excited to welcome Narcisse Ngoy to our program," Steven Pearl said in Auburn's official release, per Auburn Undercover. "He's a high-upside young man who brings toughness, physicality and a team-first mindset to everything he does.
"Narcisse has a strong feel for the game on both ends of the floor. His instincts, ability to catch and finish around the basket, rim protection, and willingness to embrace contact will make him an immediate impact while filling a huge need for our team."
The Tigers struggled this past season to fill the big man role with Keyshawn Murphy alone due to Emeka Oporum's medical issue-related absence from December through the end of the year. With Murphy gone, Ngoy will fill a huge gap on the roster for Pearl's team.
"What stands out the most is his commitment to winning," Pearl said of Ngoy. "He's not focused on individual numbers—he takes pride in doing the hard, physical work that helps his team succeed. He competes at a high level, processes the game well, and understands how to play within a system."Â
Auburn Tigers basketball returns to action this Thursday at 8:30 p.m. in Indianapolis against Indiana State in the Final Four of the NIT.
