First-year Auburn Tigers head football coach Alex Golesh and his staff have put in a lot of work already when it comes to recruiting the class of 2027, and their efforts paid off with a big commitment on Thursday night.

The No. 1 prospect out of the state of Alabama, 4-star defensive lineman Donivan Moore, announced his commitment to the Auburn Tigers via Hayes Fawcett on X.

From Hueytown, Alabama, Moore is ranked as the No. 72 player overall and the No. 5 defensive lineman in the recruiting class of 2027 according to 247 Sports. He chose the Tigers over Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas, Ohio State and LSU, and he becomes the second commit to Golesh's class of 2027. The other is 3-star tight end Trae Proctor from Plantation, Florida.

Moore's primary recruiter was Auburn defensive line coach Vontrell King-Williams, whose recruitment of the DL goes back to Hugh Freeze's tenure on the Plains. The retention of his position coach was enough to convince Moore to commit shortly after a visit to campus for Junior Day.

"He's a great coach, he's going to tell you straight up, he's not going to sugarcoat it," Moore said previously, per Auburn Undercover. "He's just going to get to you to the next level and more importantly make me a better man."

As the top recruit in the state, Moore is a big pickup for Golesh and his staff as they work to build their first complete recruiting class on the Plains.
