In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, baseball defeats Samford 15-8, and the Tigers are pursuing a 4-star edge who is committed to Alabama

Tuesday night, the Auburn baseball team squared off against the Samford Bulldogs and pulled off another big win. Four Tigers— Eric Snow, Chris Rembert, Bub Terrell, and Cooper McMurray— hit home runs, and Snow and Rembert logged three and four RBIs, respectively.

"Early on that first weekend I knew there was more because we're with them every day," coach Butch Thompson said of his offense, per Auburn Undercover. "They have arrived and played pretty good. I thought it was a huge part of the game that we could not put them away today. I thought we did it from start to finish."

Auburn baseball is back this weekend for the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series in San Antonio, Texas, at Globe Life Field.

Tigers pursuing Alabama edge commit

4-star edge rusher Jabarrius "Chicken" Garror committed to Alabama last July, but Auburn football is still trying to change his mind. From Mobile, Alabama, Garror is ranked as the No. 8 edge in the class of 2026 and the No. 2 commit out of his home state.

He was on Auburn's campus for the big Junior Day event at the end of January, where players got to attend the Auburn basketball game in addition to the football activities. For Garror, the chance to talk more with the Tigers' coaches has raised his interest in Auburn.

"I mean, that visit was a good visit because, you know, I watched it," Garror said, per Auburn Rivals. "We went around the campus and watched the (Auburn basketball) game, and I got to talk with the coaches more than I did last time. So it was a great visit. You know, I'll be back up there to meet those coaches again."

Garror enjoyed his time on the Plains and his visit with new edge coach Roc Bellantoni and will likely return for another visit.
