In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, Alex McPherson indicates he will return to football this season, and here are several transfer destinations for former Tigers
After a stellar first two seasons with the Auburn football program, place kicker Alex McPherson was forced to miss nearly the entire 2024 season due to gastrointestinal issues that caused him severe problems, including drastic weight loss.
Since receiving surgery during the offseason, McPherson has battled to regain the weight and condition himself enough to return to the game, and a post on his personal Instagram account earlier this week indicates that he will be able to play this season.
McPherson's return comes after a season where kicking duties were handled by true freshman Towns McGough for the first half of the year, and then by Ian Vachon at the tail end of the season. Here's what he said earlier this month about coming back to the game, per Auburn Wire.
"I'm super excited. I'm super pumped to finally get back on the practice field and get back to doing what I love," McPherson said earlier this month. "Just being around the guys has been a blast, and just getting back for spring practice. All that hard work and time we spent trying to figure everything out... now it is finally paying off. Getting to see the fruit from everything that we have been going through... it is awesome to finally get back out there."
