In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, head coaches Bruce Pearl and Hugh Freeze both land new recruits for next year's rosters

Earlier this week, another recruit joined the 2025 Auburn basketball recruiting class. 4-star guard Kaden Magwood announced his commitment to the Tigers on Tuesday. From Charlotte, North Carolina, Magwood is ranked as the #1 recruit out of his state and the #7 combo guard in the recruiting class of 2025.

He visited the Plains earlier this fall and got the opportunity to sit down with Bruce Pearl and observe some of the Tigers' practices.

"I'm a scoring guard," Magwood said after his visit, per Auburn Undercover. "Watching Tahaad Pettiford get downhill and score and also pass, and also Denver (Jones) doing the same thing, I can really see myself in that position.

"I watched Sharife Cooper here and I feel like I'm that type of guard, but I'm a little bit taller. I can impact the game more by rebounding and playing defense. I feel like I'm one of those guards that can be a good player in this system."

3-star WR Erick Smith commits to Auburn football

Meanwhile, the Auburn football team also landed a new commit. 3-star wide receiver Erick Smith, the twin brother of current Auburn wide receiver commit Derick Smith, announced his pledge to the Tigers on Wednesday after visiting the Plains with his brother for the Vanderbilt game.

"Because every time I come up here, it felt like home," Smith said of his commitment, per Auburn Undercover. "Coach Marcus, he's similar to my high school coach. They don't sugarcoat anything and always show family-like and like a father figure. I don't want a coach that shows different sides of themselves, I want them to show their true colors and he does exactly that."

In addition to his relationship with the coaches, the chance to play with his brother was also a big factor in Smith's decision. Both twins plan to sign on early signing day next month and enroll in the summer.
