In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, College GameDay will return to the Plains, and the Tigers are working to flip a 4-star TAMU commit
Next Saturday, for the fifth season in a row, ESPN College GameDay will head to the Plains for Auburn basketball's highly-anticipated matchup with Tennessee. For six weeks, the Vols were ranked No. 1 in the AP Poll and the Tigers lurked at No. 2, but with Tennessee's loss last week to Kansas, Auburn surged to the top spot.
The pregame show will air from 10:00-11:00 a.m. from Neville Arena, and tipoff between the No. 1 and No. 6 teams is set for 7:30 p.m. central. Doors will open to the arena at 7:00 a.m. and the venue will be cleared following the show's end at 11:00.
ESPN College GameDay was on the Plains last year for Auburn basketball's matchup with Kentucky. Auburn is the only school in the country to have hosted the pregame show for five seasons straight, per Auburn Undercover.
Tigers are working to flip a 4-star TAMU commit
Though 4-star tight end Xavier Tiller committed to the Texas A&M Aggies in November of 2024, the Auburn football program is recruiting him hard.
From Fairburn, Georgia, Tiller attends Langston-Hughes High School, a school that produces high-quality recruits every year. He is ranked as the #4 tight end in the class of 2026 and the #13 recruit out of the Peach State.
Tiller took an unofficial visit to the Plains during the 2023 season and attended a camp on the Plains during the summer in 2024 before committing to the Aggies. But the Tigers are still in the fight.
Auburn Wire reports that Tiller is still planning to take visits despite his commitment and has set his official visit to the Plains for the Tigers' upcoming Junior Day on January 25. He will also visit Florida and Florida State.
