In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, defensive end Keldric Faulk speaks on the defense in the weekend's big win over Kentucky and we look at the Tigers' upcoming matchup with Vanderbilt

The Auburn football team got a massive win over the weekend against the Kentucky Wildcats. The Tigers moved up to 3-5 overall and picked up their first conference win on the road. While Jarquez Hunter's historic performance on the offense was a big factor in the win, the defense dominated throughout the game to keep the Wildcats out of the end zone.

Though the defense got off to a slow start, defensive end Keldric Faulk said it was due to mental mistakes, and once everyone locked in, they were good to go.

"Just playing relentless on defense," Faulk said, per Auburn Rivals. "Whether we had the wrong call or the wrong check, we just played relentless on defense. Our effort, whether we made mistakes or not, it covered everything. Every mistake, every blown check, our effort covered everything."

Vanderbilt vs. Auburn football info

With one conference win under their belts, the Tigers will return home to look for another this weekend. After three straight road games, Auburn football will host Vanderbilt in Jordan-Hare Stadium and open as favorites over the Commodores.

The Tigers have won the last two games against Vanderbilt, but quarterback Diego Pavia has his team playing at a much higher level than usual this season. Pavia notably played for New Mexico State last year, and led that team to victory over Auburn in Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Vandy is 5-3 this season with big wins over Alabama, Virginia Tech, and Kentucky. Their two L's are both three-point losses to Missouri and Texas.

Auburn and Vanderbilt will kick off from the Plains this Saturday at 11:45 a.m.
