After a break from the action, Auburn football will return next week for their second road trip of the season. It will be Tigers vs. Tigers in Columbia, Missouri, and kickoff time has been set for 11:00 a.m. central time.
Auburn has yet to win a conference matchup and will have a challenging game ahead as they face their third straight ranked opponent this season following Oklahoma and Georgia. After three consecutive losses, the Tigers open as the underdog to Missouri by a touchdown.
Following the Mizzou matchup, Auburn football will travel to Kentucky before returning to the Plains for a three-home game stretch.
Who won and lost in the SEC during the Tigers' bye week?
While Auburn football was off this weekend, there was plenty of action taking place around the rest of the conference.
The day began with South Carolina vs. Alabama in Tuscaloosa, and the Gamecocks didn't go down without a fight. The Tide held on for a 27-25 win at home.
Oklahoma and Texas faced off in the Red River Rivalry for the first time as members of the SEC, and the #1 Longhorns delivered a swift beatdown of the Sooners. The final score was 34-3.
Georgia traveled to Starkville to take on Mississippi State, who gave the visiting Dawgs a run for their money and put a lot of points on the board. Georgia won the game 41-31.
Four teams battled it out in overtime yesterday, beginning with Florida and Tennessee. Despite what has been a pretty bad season for the Gators, #8 Volunteers struggled against Billy Napier and his team. Tennessee won the game 23-17 with a touchdown in overtime.
LSU and Ole Miss played a wild game in Death Valley that also ended in OT. Despite leading early in the game, LSU came back with a touchdown in the fourth quarter. Ole Miss scored a field goal in OT and LSU finished things off with a touchdown. The final score was 26-29.
Finally, after an insane victory over Alabama last weekend, Vanderbilt and Diego Pavia did it again this weekend against Kentucky. Vanderbilt sits with a 4-2 record after its defeat of the Wildcats 20-13.
