Head coach Alex Golesh and the Auburn Tigers are headed to Oxford this weekend to take on the No. 12 Ole Miss Rebels in a week nine matchup.

It's the first time Auburn will play Ole Miss in two years, and the first time they will face the Rebs under the leadership of Pete Golding. Kewan Lacy is set to be out for the game, but quarterback Trinidad Chambliss will pose a big challenge for the Auburn defense, a unit which struggled mightily last weekend against LSU.

While the Tigers are coming off a 38-17 loss to LSU, the Rebels are coming off a 34-27 loss to Texas. It is the first matchup between Auburn and Ole Miss since 2023 when the Rebs came to Jordan-Hare Stadium. Here are the results of the games between the Tigers and the Rebs since 2016.

October 21, 2023: Ole Miss wins at Auburn, 28-21
October 15, 2022: Ole Miss wins vs. Auburn, 48-34
October 30, 2021: Auburn wins vs. Ole Miss, 31-20
October 24, 2020: Auburn wins at Ole Miss, 35-28
November 2, 2019: Auburn wins vs. Ole Miss, 20-14
October 20, 2018: Auburn wins at Ole Miss, 31-16
October 7, 2017: Auburn wins vs. Ole Miss, 44-23
October 29, 2016: Auburn wins at Ole Miss, 40-29

As the record shows, Auburn dominated Ole Miss for quite some time. Two Auburn teams coached by Bryan Harsin lost to Ole Miss in 2021 and 2022, and then Hugh Freeze's team lost to Ole Miss in 2023. The Tigers and the Rebs did not play in 2024 or 2025, and now Golesh will get the opportunity to put things on the right track for the Auburn Tigers.

Auburn is currently a 13.5-point underdog heading into the game, and the Rebs will be hungry to bounce back after the tough loss to the Longhorns last weekend. Chambliss is one of the best quarterbacks in the nation, and the Tigers' pass defense will have to step up their game to slow down the Rebels. Meanwhile, the Auburn offense and quarterback Byrum Brown will have to get into a rhythm and be able to move the ball down the field if they want to have any hope of success. Establishing the run game could be a key to victory for Brown and Auburn football this weekend.

The Tigers and the Rebels are set for an 11:45 a.m. Central Time kickoff from Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford.
