Auburn's wide receiver room just lost a valuable asset heading into the bulk of SEC play.

On Wednesday, Tigers head coach Hugh Freeze announced that Horatio Field had suffered a broken foot, which will require surgery. No timetable has been set for his return.

A transfer from Wake Forest, Fields was expected to be one of the primary targets for Jackson Arnold this season. In four games, he caught 12 passes for 106 yards and a touchdown.

Last year for the Demon Deacons, the Douglasville, Ga., native posted 39 receptions for 463 yards and four scores.

The injury leaves Cam Coleman, Eric Singleton Jr. and Malcolm Simmons as the only veteran receivers in the group, with two of those being sophomores who contributed extensively last season.

Freeze and his offense will try to exploit Texas A&M's secondary this Saturday in College Station. The Aggies rank 68th in passing offense, allowing 211.7 yards per game.
