The Denver Broncos are all in on Bo Nix amid rumors that the team is considering signing Aaron Rodgers away from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Denver Sports 104.3's Will Petersen confirmed that Pro Football Talk host Mike Florio's rumor is simply not true.
Per Petersen, "An 'Aaron Rodgers to the Broncos' rumor popped up on Wednesday morning, one that a source with the team described as 'absurd.' That might have been in play years ago, but has a zero percent chance of happening now. The Broncos are all-in with Bo Nix and it appears like his offseason, even after the unfortunate broken ankle, is going splendidly."
Broncos GM George Paton had just gone on the record and said that Nix is progressing way ahead of schedule. Paton went into pretty substantial detail in describing how far ahead Nix actually is and promised his availability at OTAs.
“He’s ahead of schedule,’’ Paton said to 9NEWS. “He’s running, he’s jumping. Really proud of how he’s attacked rehab. He’s done a great job. He’ll be ready for OTAs.’’
So no Rodgers, and Nix is fine. Sounds like everything is all set in Denver's QB room ahead of the 2026 season. Right?
Wrong.
Jarrett Stidham feels like a potential goner from the Broncos
Jarrett Stidham could be the odd man out from the Broncos QB room this coming season. Making $6 million, Stidham is a potential high-end backup in a different locker room. Unfortunately, the sting of Denver's AFC Championship Game loss, in which the team mustered just seven points, may have made Stidham more expendable. Sean Payton may just want to find a new Nix understudy. It appears he's looking.
The Rodgers rumors point to the team clearly having some sort of eyes on acquiring a QB. Rodgers isn't realistic, but there is a veteran out there somewhere who makes a lot more sense for the Broncos.
