Massive news broke on Monday afternoon as ESPN's Jeff Borzello reported that Bruce Pearl will retire after 11 seasons as Auburn's men's basketball coach.
Auburn fans are dealing with the news with mixed emotions, from thanking Pearl for what he was able to accomplish during his time on the Plains, to wondering what the future holds with Pearl's son, Steven, reportedly set to take over the head coaching position.

All of a sudden it turned out to be a bad day for a cold beer or elicit drugs in general. Maybe a mix of bourbon and bad decisions as well.

Bruce Pearl leaves as inarguably the best coach in Auburn basketball history. He led the Tigers to 3 SEC titles, 2 SEC Tournament titles and two Final Four appearances (2019, 2025) in 11 seasons. https://t.co/FE6cHkLi2b

Well, I’ll say this. Bruce Pearl single-handily brought Auburn basketball from the absolute bottom to become an annual title contender.

Not many individuals have done more for a program. I’m grateful for however many years he was willing to give us.
Thank yew, Bruce 🙏 pic.twitter.com/GYcdQ3Uzys
Bruce Pearl is arguably the most important person in Auburn athletics since Pat Dye. The energy that he brought to Auburn’s basketball program is something special. A program in the dumpster became a national name in a decade. Thank you BP.
