Hugh Freeze runs the risk of having a worse record through his first 21 games than Bryan Harsin in the only 21 games he was given to run the Auburn football program when the Tigers take on Kentucky. AL.com's Mark Inabinett titled his preview of AU's Week 9 matchup, "Auburn at Kentucky by the numbers: Can Hugh Freeze equal Bryan Harsin?"

Harsin's unsuccessful tenure is the story in 2024, two years nearly to the day of his Halloween 2022 firing, because of how far back the program is in all facets of the NIL era. Part of that is his fault, but Freeze has struggled to get his Tigers to execute late in games with the highly-rated talent he's bringing in.

That's not the only reason why some are talking about the Boise native who took AU's money and ran.

Bryan Harsin calls out Auburn football reporter three years later in strange tweet

Harsin raised some hell on social media with AL.com's Joseph Goodman over an issue that is three years old: Harsin and his players' vaccination status.

Harsin had a five-word message for Goodman: "3 year anniversary…..didn’t work!"

Goodman had accused Harsin of purposely not answering his question in an October 25, 2021 tweet that Harsin reintroduced to the timeline.

"Auburn coach Bryan Harsin refused to say whether he's vaccinated or not despite the mandate by Auburn," Goodman said at the time. "Auburn also wouldn't allow me to ask a question, which is lame, and shows why the Zoom format is b*******."

On October 25, 2021, Auburn was 5-2 and ranked No. 18 in the country. They would go on to beat Ole Miss 31-20, become the No. 13 team in the country, and get blasted by Texas A&M before losing four more games to end the campaign.
