Amaris Williams was supposed to be a massive part of Georgia’s defense during the 2026 season. Unfortunately, the outside linebacker will miss the entire season after tearing his ACL during the end of practice on Tuesday., according to Graham Coffey.
A former 5-star recruit out of Clinton, N.C., Williams was a key signee by Hugh Freeze and Auburn in the 2024 class. He was ranked the No. 5 EDGE and No. 30 overall player in the signing class, and was part of a Tigers’ class that finished ranked No. 7 in the nation.
Following a coaching change with Alex Golesh coming to the Plains after last season, Williams entered the transfer portal on Dec. 19, 2025, before committing to Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs on Jan. 8.
