Former Auburn wide receiver coach Ike Hilliard is out of a job after being fired by the Atlanta Falcons on Monday. This comes after a rough start to the 2025 NFL season by the Falcons' receivers, especially in a 30-0 shutout loss to the Carolina Panthers this past Sunday.

Hilliard spent one season on the Plains, and it was a memorable one. Hired to coach Auburn's wide receivers by Bryan Harsin prior to the 2022 season, he saw his status get upgraded to interim co-offensive coordinator alongside Will Friend following the dismissal of Harsin and then-offensive coordinator Eric Kiesau.

After Hugh Freeze took the head coaching job at Auburn, Hilliard was not kept on staff.

A consensus All-American and first-team All-SEC in 1996, Hilliard caught 47 passes for 900 yards and 10 touchdowns, helping lead the Florida Gators to the national championship.

Previous stops for the 49-year-old coach have included the Miami Dolphins, Washington Redskins, Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers.
