Heading into his third season on the Plains, there is a lot of pressure on head coach Hugh Freeze to achieve results on the field and win games. With players from another top 10 recruiting class and several key transfers joining the roster, there is a lot of optimism that things could improve this year.

Here are four Auburn football players on the offense who are poised to have a breakout season and contribute to the Tigers' success this fall.

Wide Receiver Perry Thompson

In-state wide receiver Perry Thompson had high hopes for his freshman season, but when things didn't exactly pan out the way he planned, Thompson simply put his head down and got to work. Heading into his second season in orange and blue, the wide receiver has impressed in drills and practice, is poised to be a much bigger contributor alongside Cam Coleman, Malcolm Simmons, and Eric Singleton Jr. this season.

Running Back Damari Alston

After serving as Jarquez Hunter's backup for several years, Damari Alston is entering his senior season on the Plains and has taken up a leadership role in the running backs room. Alston has racked up 681 yards and five touchdowns in his three seasons and has the opportunity to add significantly to those numbers as the Tigers' RB1 this fall.

Safeties Anquon Fegans and Eric Winters

Freshman safeties Anquon Fegans and Eric Winters have generated a lot of buzz during the spring and summer, and they're always mentioned by the coaching staff as a duo.

"I don't think anyone could argue that we signed two of the beter safeties in the country in Anquon Fegans and Eric Winters," Freeze said after the pair signed, per Auburn Undercover. "They were a priority from day one. Love both their families. They're from great programs and have two great head coaches in those programs and have been coached well, know how to practice, know how to compete. Their families fit with us and they add good size to us which is something we're lacking in the back end."

Even as freshmen, the pair is set to make an instant impact and play early for Auburn football.
