It certainly wasn’t the season that Auburn coaches, players and fans wanted in 2025 as the Tigers ended 5-7 for the second consecutive season, Hugh Freeze was fired after a dismal performance in a 10-3 loss to Kentucky and the Tigers once again missed postseason play.

There were some standouts for Auburn this season, led by linebacker Xavier Atkins, who was named to First Team All-SEC after a breakout year. The sophomore led DJ Durkin’s defense with 84 tackles, while having an SEC-high 17 tackles for a loss and adding nine sacks. He becomes the first Auburn linebacker to earn first-team honors since KJ Britt in 2019. Atkins also had an interception that he returned 73 yards, setting up the Tigers’ only touchdown in a loss to Texas A&M.

Faulk and Crawford made terrific duo up front

Keldric Faulk and Keyron Crawford were named to Third Team All-SEC for their defensive play this season. Faulk, a junior who will be a high pick in next year’s NFL draft, posted 29 total tackles, five tackles for a loss, two sacks, four passes broken up and six quarterback hurries in his final season with the Tigers.

Playing alongside Faulk, Crawford produced 9.5 tackles for a loss with five sacks to go along with 36 total tackles, 10 quarterback hurries and a forced fumble in his senior season.

Jeremiah Cobb was the only offensive player to earn All-SEC honors, with the running back being named to the third team. The junior took over the starting job in the backfield after an injury to Damari Alston in the season-opening win against Baylor and never looked back, rushing for 969 yards and five scores.

While Faulk and Crawford will not be back, Atkins and Cobb can return for Auburn next season as part of Alex Golesh's first team on the Plains.
