The Auburn Tigers got their first SEC win in 671 days over the weekend with their defeat of the Vanderbilt commodores 21-15 at Jordan-Hare Stadium. It was the first conference win of the Alex Golesh era, and it was solid momentum for the Tigers as they prepare to hit the road for their next 2 matchups.
Unfortunately for Golesh and the Tigers, things are not getting any easier as the 2026 season marches on. There are eight games left on the schedule, and six of those eight opponents are ranked after week four.
The Tigers will face one of those ranked opponents, No. 17 Tennessee, this weekend in Knoxville. The Volunteers lost a close game to Texas this past weekend to drop three spots in the poll, but they will still pose a significant challenge for Auburn at Rocky Top.
Following Tennessee, Auburn will get a quick break with a bye week before hitting the road to face another ranked opponent. No. 2 Georgia sits just behind Texas in the AP Poll and is undefeated heading into week five. The Dawgs took down the Oklahoma Sooners 41-13 last weekend to hold on to their No. 2 spot and will face Vanderbilt next weekend.
LSU comes to town after Auburn plays Georgia. Despite their ups and downs, LSU is at No. 11 after taking down Texas A&M 35-6 in Death Valley. LSU, with that pesky loss to Ole Miss haunting their record, will take on McNeese next Saturday.
After LSU, Auburn will hit the road again to Oxford, Mississippi, to take on Pete Golding and the Rebs, who are currently ranked at No. 9. The Rebs dropped five spots from last week after a shocking 52-28 loss to Florida. Ole Miss will take on Wofford this Saturday.
Golesh and the Tigers will play unranked Arkansas after Ole Miss, but next up is one of the biggest suprises of the season. Mississippi State will come to Jordan-Hare Stadium on Nov. 14, and they may still be boasting a ranked status at that time. The Bulldogs are currently ranked No. 16, moving up eight spots after defeating No. 19 Missouri. Things might not go as well for Mississippi State this Saturday when they face Alabama, but they're still a ranked opponent to watch, for now.
And finally, after playing Samford, the Tigers will take on what will certainly still be a ranked Alabama team. The Tide defeated South Carolina 49-18 and moved up one place to No. 7 in the AP Poll. They will face Mississippi State next weekend.
