The Auburn Tigers are up big against Michigan State, but right now, there's a ton of concern surrounding the health of standout playmaker Johni Broome. Midway through the second half, the SEC Player of the Year took a tough fall and he was down on the court for a little while.

He was finally helped to his feet, but he was shaking his head, which is not a good sign. As he was walking gingerly off the hardwood on his way to the locker room, he was seen telling his teammates he was done for the day too. Is this a serious injury for the superstar big man?

Johni Broome was taken back to the locker room with a concerning-looking injury for Auburn

According to Tracy Wolfson, the main concern for Broome is a potentially serious elbow injury. As you can see in the video above, Broome's elbow appears to hyperextend. He was visibly in a ton of pain and frustrated with what happened.

UPDATE: Well, so much for that. Not long after Broome made his way back to the locker room, he somehow emerged from the tunnel and then he checked back into the game. This has to be a major relief for Auburn fans everywhere.

For a moment, you can go ahead and admit that you were scared Broome might be out for an extended period of time. As it turns out, he was only out for a little more than five minutes of game action. Seriously? This is no question a major blessing for the Tigers and Bruce Pearl.

Broome is one of the best players in the country, arguably the best one. In order for Auburn to push for a national title, there's no question that the veteran talent needs to be close to full health and out on the hardwood. Thankfully, a major disaster has been averted and it looks like he's going to be just fine.
