Summer is here, which means that the college football season is right around the corner. Earlier this week, the kickoff times for the Tigers' first three matchups were announced along with the TV networks that will broadcast the games.
In a schedule shakeup, the Tigers will face their first opponent on August 29, a Friday night. Auburn football will travel to Waco, Texas, to take on the Baylor Bears. Kickoff for the game is set at 7:00 p.m. Central Time, and the game will be shown on Fox. It will be only the fifth matchup between the two teams since 1976.
After the season opener, Head Coach Hugh Freeze and the Tigers will return home to the Plains to host the Ball State Cardinals. The game will kick off at 6:30 p.m. from Jordan Hare Stadium, and the game will be broadcast on ESPNU. Ball State and Auburn have met only three times previously, and the Tigers have won all the matchups.
For the third game of the season, Auburn football will welcome the South Alabama Jaguars to the Plains for the Tigers' homecoming game. The game will be the first morning game of the season, with kickoff set for 11:45 to air on the SEC Network. This matchup will be the first between Auburn and South Alabama.
Following the game against South Alabama, Auburn will travel to Oklahoma to begin SEC play against the Sooners. The Southeastern Conference is expected to release more game times at some point in June.
