The Southeastern Conference has released the schedule for the 2026 Men's and Women's Basketball Media days, an event that will be hosted in Birmingham, Alabama, and spread over two days.
On Oct. 13 and Oct. 14, the representatives from each SEC men's and women's basketball teams will speak to the media. On Day 1, Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Oklahoma, Ole Miss South Carolina, Tennessee and Vanderbilt will speak to the media. Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Missouri, Texas and Texas A&M will appear on Day 2.
Representing the Auburn basketball team alongside head coach Steven Pearl at media days will be returners Tahaad Pettiford and Kevin Overton. Both veteran members of the Auburn squad heading into the 2026 season, the pair are the right picks for the Tigers' player representatives and will have the opportunity to set the tone for the upcoming season.
Auburn basketball looking to improve in 2026-27 season
Steven Pearl is entering into his second season as the head basketball coach on the Plains, and he is looking to bring an improved squad into 2026. However, the Tigers' schedule doesn't get any easier this year with scheduled matchups against Arizona, West Virginia, Clemson, Wisconsin and more.
Pearl and his staff hit the portal hard in the offseason to try to fix some of the issues from last year's roster, bringing in a trio of big men and several others in key positions. A lot will be expected from Pettiford, who is entering into his third year as an Auburn Tiger.
Auburn basketball's regular season will open on November 4 at Auburn Arena against the Southeastern Louisiana Lions, and they will begin conference play on January 2 against Texas A&M on the road.
