As a fullback in the NFL, Andrews’s career didn’t last very long. It was an unforgiving position to play, but in Atlanta, Andrews was one of the best in the league. Over his first five seasons before suffering a knee injury that derailed his career, he ran for 1,000 yards four times and had 10 touchdowns in 1981.
Andrews was a four-time Pro Bowler and twice was named second-team All-Pro. It’s rare to get that type of production from a third round pick. His career came to an abrupt end, playing just one season after missing 1984 and 1985 with a knee injury. He ran for just 214 yards in 1986 before retiring.
Had he stayed healthy, he may be much higher on this list.
