He’s on the All-SEC First Team. He’s on the SEC All-Defensive Team. He’s a finalist for the Naismith Trophy.

Not only is Johni Broome amassing countless awards this season, but he is also going to be the rock of Auburn’s squad in the tournaments. Broome leads the team in points, rebounds, and blocks while starting 30 out of the 31 games so far.

An all-around talented player, Broome has the opportunity to carry his team to not just an SEC Tournament title but on a deep run in the NCAA Tournament as well.

While Broome isn’t one of the most veteran players on the team, I think that he is one of the cleanest and most complete players on the roster. His abilities on both ends of the court will be crucial to Auburn making a deep run this postseason.

The Tigers are scheduled to make their postseason debut in Game 8 of the SEC Tournament on March 15.
