The Fayetteville Flyer's Terry J. Wood foresees another Arkansas loss in Week 4 if the Hogs play against Auburn football the way they did against UAB and Oklahoma State (in the second half) over the last two weeks.

"I’ll guarantee you if the Razorbacks make similar mistakes to the ones that have tripped them up over their last six quarters of play, the Hogs will come back to Fayetteville with another loss," Wood prefaced before saying, "It’s that simple.

"A team can’t make the critical mistakes the Hogs have made over the last game and a half and expect to compete in the SEC."

Including a pair of overtimes against the Pokes in Stillwater, the Razorbacks have given up 59 points since halftime of the Oklahoma State game. UAB's Jacob Zeno had his biggest game against the Razorbacks' "SEC-level" defense.

That's not winning football. Auburn is welcoming in a team with wounds from opposing QBs on September 21.

Auburn football already has down-game in the mirror

Hugh Freeze's Tigers already had their early-season dud. With AU's 21-14 loss to Cal in the rearview, and a QB switch having happened in between that and the Arkansas matchup, there's a renewed sense of optimism on the Plains.

The Razorbacks don't have that. There are legitimate worries about their defense, led by former Auburn LB coach and player Travis Williams, holding up. On the road in their first SEC matchup of the season, a few big Hank Brown throws to a much-improved Tigers receiving corps can have them off their axis.

Of course, AU's secondary was beyond suspect in the first half against New Mexico. DJ Durkin has to rectify that ASAP against Taylen Green.

But the Tigers look to be in good shape ahead of Week 4. FYI, Cal can be 4-0 after traveling to Tallahassee to battle the downtrodden FSU Noles this Saturday.

Auburn may be better than their Week 2 disappointment indicated.
