The Auburn football program continues to celebrate the Flipmas holiday with another commit flipping to the Tigers
The 2024 class gave the Auburn football program a lot to celebrate over the past couple of days. The Tigers secured a top-ten recruiting class in head coach Hugh Freeze's first full recruiting cycle on the Plains, and the #4 class in the SEC.
Freeze said early on that the recruiting classes of 2024 and 2025 were going to be vital to the rebuild of the Auburn football program, and it seems as though the Tigers are on track with the vision. Locking down the #7 class in the nation after a 6-6 season is no small feat.
The class of 2025 has the potential to be even more impressive than 2024, and it got a massive boost with the surprise flip of 4-star defensive lineman Antonion Coleman from the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Coleman, who is ranked as the #8 defensive lineman in the recruiting class of 2025 and the #9 player out of the state of Alabama, currently plays at Saraland with 5-star wide receiver Ryan Williams, who is committed to Alabama but is a massive flip target for Auburn.
The DL had been committed to the Crimson Tide since September, but Auburn defensive line coach Jeremy Garrett made Coleman a priority, the relationships the prospect built on the Plains were enough to change his mind, per Auburn Live:
“What stuck out at Auburn is the coaches, the atmosphere and the opportunity I will have to play there,” Coleman told On3. “Coach (Jeremy) Garrett and Vontrell (King-Williams) have led me to choose Auburn. I mean, those are my guys. They don't sell you lies. They are straightforward."
Coleman is the eighth prospect to commit to Auburn football's class of 2025. The class currently ranks #3 in the country, per 247 Sports.
