Auburn football head coach Hugh Freeze revealed on the May 9 edition of Next Round Live that all 16 SEC football head coaches have a group chat together following the Regions Pro-Am in Hoover.

"We actually have a text group," Freeze said. "Every now and then one of our coaches will start a conversation and some of us chime in, some don't. You know who the chatty ones are. You know who always has an opinion."

Freeze would go onto say that Missouri's Eli Drinkwitz is one of his best friends and has great ideas after the hosts joked about Drinkwitz being one of the chatty ones.

Auburn football head coach Hugh Freeze opens up on Kalen DeBoer and Nick Saban

Freeze spoke about his past and present Iron Bowl counterparts, new Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer and the sport's recently-retired G.O.A.T., Nick Saban, on May 8.

On DeBoer, Freeze was complimentary but stayed mum on their relationship; refusing to comment on the job DeBoer has done since taking over the Crimson Tide in January.

"Kalen I've known for a while," Freeze said (h/t WVTM13 News). I think he's a really good football coach and a good man. I can't keep up with all they're doing right now I got my hands full with us, but I'm sure he'll do a fine job."

As for Saban, Freeze was less close to the vest, opening up on their improved friendship since the former called it a career.

"Nick and I, we were in Jupiter for spring break and played golf together," Freeze said (h/t Tuscaloosa News). "We actually talk fairly regularly now. It's peaceful. Everybody knows I love Nick and we're really good friends away from the field when we don't play each other."

As it turns out, there's a level of camaraderie to all the head football coaches in the SEC. When all their careers are said and done, though, they will likely be closer if Freeze and Saban's friendship is any indication.
