Auburn football legend Cam Newton doesn't mind not winning a Super Bowl during his 10 seasons with the Carolina Panthers because of how much he enjoyed being part of the North Carolina and South Carolina cultures for all but one year of his NFL career.

“So much respect there man,” Newton said on his 4th and 1 podcast. “Still to this day, like, I always will have a place in my heart for Charlotte, North Carolina for the people just embracing me … I love Carolina. I love Charlotte -- and when you say Carolina you just can’t say North Carolina. This is the Carolinas. It was just such an impactful time in my life because even though we weren’t winning, it still felt good. You know, and I just hate that I never really brought a ring back to Carolina, but some things ain’t in the books to be written. But that doesn’t mean we didn’t have a time. A time was had.”

Newton, an Atlanta native, never got to play for his hometown team, but he seems fulfilled with his NFL career regardless.

And how could he not be fulfilled, given what he was able to do while on the Plains.

Cam Newton's one season with Auburn football made him an all-time college QB

Newton won a harder championship to win than the Super Bowl before he ever stepped foot in the pros. With a roster filled with upperclassmen who were mostly not NFL-bound after their AU careers, Newton brought the Tigers a BCS Championship.

His Heisman win was the inevitable cherry on top of his generational 2010 season.

Now that his career is unofficially over, Newton knows that he had a career worth being envious of. He also knows that he did as much as humanly possible while being loyal to the Panthers.

Superman is at peace with it all. As he deserves to be.
