Auburn football makes top three for 4-star star safety Anquon Fegans
Thompson safety Anquon Fegans considers the Tigers to be at the top of his recruiting list
From Alabaster, Alabama, and out of Thompson High School, Anquon Fegans has received a lot of college football offers. In addition to Auburn, programs like Georgia, Alabama, Washington, Miami, and more have a high level of interest in the 4-star safety.
For some time now, Fegans has been a high priority target for the Auburn football program. Ranked as the #3 safety in the recruiting class of 2025 and the #2 recruit out of the state of Alabama, Fegans was committed to USC for awhile before decommitting in August of 2023.
He has taken several trips to the Plains, visiting in both February and March of this year. He has been primarily recruited by Auburn's defensive coordinator Charles Kelly and cornerbacks coach Wesley McGriff. Fegans told Auburn Rivals that there isn't a clear leader in his recruitment but that Auburn football is definitely in his top three.
However, according to On3 Sports' Steve Wiltfong, Fegans' father believes that the Tigers are standing out above the other programs vying for his son's interest, which he credited to the relationships they've been building with the coaching staff. Fegans says his recruitment will come down to more than just football.
"I mean, like, just take football out of it," Fegans said, per Auburn Rivals. "The people, that town, the people are just great and the people just treat you as one of theirs."
247 Sports indicates that Fegans has set official visits to Georgia, Clemson, Miami, and Washington over the summer, and an official visit to the Plains could be on the books for this fall. Although he does not have a timeline for his decision, he did reveal that it could come at any moment, whenever he feels most comfortable.
