Auburn Tigers News: AU makes top group for 2025 OL, Marcus Davis ranked #6 recruiter in country
In today's edition of Auburn Tigers news, Auburn football makes the top group for a 2025 offensive lineman and wide receivers coach Marcus Davis gets noticed for recruiting efforts
The world of FBS college football is currently in the middle of a dead period in recruiting which ends in early March, so coaches are allowed to have zero contact with recruits or their parents right now. While visits are on hold, recruits are working to narrow down their lists of potential schools to groups of finalists.
Earlier this week, 3-star offensive lineman Mario Nash dropped his top ten schools, and Auburn football was included on the list alongside Florida State, Georgia Tech, LSU, Miami, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss, Penn State and USC.
From De Kalb, MS, Nash is ranked as the #17 IOL in the recruiting class of 2025 and is the #11 recruit out of his state. He plans to take more visits this spring and then make a final decision before his senior season begins this fall.
Marcus Davis gets noticed for recruiting efforts
Some of the biggest accomplishments for head coach Hugh Freeze's staff in year one occured in the world of recruiting. The Tigers locked down a top 10 recruiting class and attract the attention of players from all over the country.
One of the best parts of Auburn's 2024 recruiting class is the group of wide receivers headed to the Plains. After several years of the Tigers struggling in the pass-catching department, a group of highly-touted wide receivers including a pair of 5-star in-state prospects is huge for the program.
Now, Auburn football wide receivers coach Marcus Davis' efforts on the recruiting trail are being recognized. 247 Sports ranked Davis as the #6 recruiter in the country and the third-best recruiter in the SEC. Davis falls behind Syracuse's Fran Brown, Texas A&M's Holmon Wiggins, Miami's Jason Taylor, LSU's Frank Wilson, and Oregon's Junior Adams.
