Auburn Tigers News: Auburn football still looking for transfer portal QB, portal WR on AU visit
In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, Auburn football has not yet given up on bringing in a quarterback from the transfer portal, and a portal wide receiver talks about his visit to the Plains
After spring practice, it seems pretty clear that the Auburn football program is planning to run it back with Payton Thorne as the quarterback for a second year. The Tigers did not bring in a transfer quarterback ahead of spring, instead allowing Thorne to earn the job over Holden Geriner, Hank Brown, and Walker White, all of whom have little to no experience in real game situations.
However, it seems that the Tigers have not yet given up on bringing in a quarterback from the transfer portal. According to On3 Sports' Hayes Fawcett, former Arizona State QB Jaden Rashada could potentially visit the Plains.
Last season, Rashada completed 44 of 82 passes for a 53.7 percent completion rate and racked up 485 yards and four touchdowns.

Over the weekend, Penn State transfer wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith officially visited the Auburn football program. The leading receiver for the Nittany Lions last season, Lambert-Smith has four years of experience and would be a massive pick up for the Tigers.
The WR said he plans to make his choice based on relationships, and noted he great time meeting with the Auburn football coaching staff, especially wide receivers coach Marcus Davis.
"One of the most genuine dudes I’ve probably met and I’ve only been here two days," Lambert-Smith said, per Auburn Rivals. "We had real convos and I can see through a lot. I got very great energy from Coach (Davis)."
Lambert-Smith is currently on a visit to Texas A&M and plans to visit USC with a possibility of visiting Colorado. He hasn't decided against visiting other programs, but will likely make a decision soon.
