In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, a running back withdraws his name from the NCAA transfer portal and Texas A&M head coach Buzz Williams has high praise for the Auburn basketball program

So far, the highlights of the transfer portal news this week revolve around players withdrawing from the NCAA transfer portal and choosing to stay with the Auburn football program. The Tigers got a big win earlier this week when star defensive back Keionte Scott announced he would remain on the Plains for another season.

Yesterday, it was reported by On3 that running back Brian Battie would be sticking with Auburn football and not transferring. According to Auburn Live, the RB was in the portal for eight days before making the decision to withdraw his name.

Battie transferred to Auburn ahead of the 2023 season after three years at South Florida. 2024 will be the RB's last year of eligibility.

Texas A&M head coach Buzz Williams has high praise for the Auburn basketball program

If you wanted to give Auburn basketball the most difficult start to SEC play, lining up an away game in Bud Walton Arena followed by a home game against Buzz Williams and the Texas A&M Aggies. However, this year's squad made quick work of the first two contests.

Though the game was close throughout both quarters, the Auburn Tigers closed out the matchup in dominant fashion with senior Jaylin Williams showing out as the leading scorer. Texas A&M head coach Buzz Williams was impressed with the whole program, from the atmosphere in Neville Arena to the way the Tigers played on both ends of the court.

While some members of Bruce Pearl's squad struggled tonight, like Aden Holloway and Chad Baker-Mazara, others stepped up and helped the Tigers get a big win at home. The next matchup will see Auburn basketball take on LSU in Neville Arena this weekend.
