After a largely disappointing season for Auburn baseball, Tiger fans got a bit of good news over the holiday weekend when Ike Irish announced he will return to the Plains for his junior season. Irish was a freshman All-American last season, and was named All-SEC this year despite battling through injuries.

In two seasons in orange and blue, Irish's career average is .343 with 20 home runs, 35 doubles and 109 runs batted in. Though he played mostly right field this season, Irish has the ability to play multiple positions and is looking forward to making a comeback and competing next season, per Auburn Undercover.

"I don't think it will hurt me, playing a multitude of positions," he said. "I told our coaches, 'throw me wherever. Wherever we have a hole, just put me there and I'll fill it to the best of my ability.' I just want to win. Our coaching staff knows that. At the end of the day it's not my name on the front of the jersey, it's Auburn. For me a position doesn't matter. It's more about winning."

Auburn men's golf advances to the Elite Eight

After a strong showing this weekend, Auburn men's golf will advance to the Elite Eight for the second time in program history. The Tigers have drawn Virginia as their opponent in the semifinals and will tee off against the Cavaliers at the Omni La Costa Champions Course in San Diego, California.

"We still have not come close to what we're capable of," Tigers head coach Nick Clinard said, per Auburn Athletics. "We need our upperclassmen to step up and compete to the level our freshmen have. We're happy to be moving on. It's a new tournament moving forward, and we'll be ready."

The Tigers go up against the Cavaliers this morning.
