Auburn Tigers News: Jim Nagy on transfer OL, Auburn baseball adds two more transfers
In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, Senior Bowl exec Jim Nagy sees lots of potential in transfer OL Percy Lewis and Auburn baseball adds two more from the transfer portal
One of the biggest problems head coach Hugh Freeze and his staff have had to correct on the Plains was the lack of offensive linemen, and they have turned things around quickly. Between high school recruiting and the transfer portal, the Auburn football team has been strengthened in the trenches, and Senior Bowl executive Jim Nagy has high expectations for one of those additions.
Percy Lewis transferred to Auburn football from Mississippi State during the offseason, and Nagy zeroed in on the big man as the next offensive lineman to be drafted from the Tigers. With only eight career starts, Nagy sees the potential but expects continued progress from Lewis in order to get a Senior Bowl invite.

Meanwhile, Hugh Freeze isn't the only one putting in work in the transfer portal. With the most recent additions, Auburn baseball head coach Butch Thompson has brought in seven transfers after the disappointing 2024 season in an effort to turn things around in 2025.
Sunday, former East Carolina outfielder Bristol Carter committed to the Tigers. Carter was an AAC All-Freshman selection last season and had the second-best batting average on the team at .346. He knocked in two home runs and 31 RBIs.
Following the addition of Carter, Thompson and the Tigers picked up another commitment from right-handed pitcher Mason Koch, who was a closer last season for Creighton. In 25 game appearances, Koch struck out 60 batters and walked only 17. Koch, who may compete for a starting role for the Tigers, knew after his visit to campus that the Plains was where he belonged.
"I walked on campus and after walking around a little bit, I kind of got the feeling 'this is where I'm supposed to be,'" Koch told Auburn Undercover. "Then after meeting all the coaches, they all seem super-knowledgeable and they're going to be the best people to help me make the next step in my career. I chose Auburn because it was the best fit. The school is fantastic and the coaches were great. Everybody in that program was just fantastic."
